This week across the country, readers everywhere are celebrating their freedom to read anything they want. Sometimes, one person or small group of people decide that a certain book is inappropriate for student readers and fight to remove it from classrooms and library shelves so that NO students can read it. Oftentimes, that person or group has not even read the book in question, and are just going off what they have heard from others. While it is wonderful to have parents and guardians helping guide us in what we read, it is not fair to have one person choose what is right for everyone. This week we celebrate the fact that we live in a country that allows us this freedom!
