The 2016 Rebecca Caudill Reader’s Choice Award Winner will be announced this Friday!
The sixth, seventh, and eighth graders who finished reading and blogging on 3 or more Rebecca Caudill books by mid-February were all invited to our Rebecca Caudill Voting Party on February 16th and 17th! We enjoyed snacks, watched a sneak peek book trailer on the Caudill Nominees for 2017, and we voted for the best Rebecca Caudill book of 2016.
The results were tallied, and PBL JH. High voted for See You at Harry’s as the Rebecca Caudill winner. The official winner will be announced at the NIU Children’s Literature Festival on March 18. Be sure to stay tuned to see if we predicted the winner for the 4th year in a row!
Several weeks ago, our eligible students gathered in the library for a Rebecca Caudill Celebration and Voting Party! We had 64 students eligible to vote this year, which was AMAZING! Of those students, we had 14 votes for LEGEND by Marie Lu, and just yesterday, I learned that this was also the pick for the state-wide award!
Congratulations to Marie Lu for winning the 2015 Rebecca Caudill Award for her first novel, LEGEND!
Results are back from the state, and 4th-8th graders across Illinois chose R.J. Palacio’s Wonder as the winner for the 2014 Rebecca Caudill Award! Congrats to the author!
Miss Ward has changed the Caudill link on the sidebar to go to the 2015 blog site, but if you would like to look at and comment on the 2014 blog site, you can still do so.
