Students, if you have a teacher that has really influenced your life, now is the perfect chance to thank him or her. In the month of February, junior high and high school students around the country are writing short essays, thank-you letters, or poems (500 words or less) explaining why a special teacher has made a difference in their life. The teacher honored with the winning essay/letter/poem will be awarded the Barnes and Noble National Teacher of the Year Award and receive $5000! Another $5000 will be awarded to the winning teacher’s school. Five regional winners will receive a NOOK Tablet and a $500 Barnes and Noble gift card. Both the teacher and student will be recognized in a special event at our local Barnes and Noble in Champaign.
Now is your chance to tell a teacher that they have a made a difference! See Miss Ward in the library for an application for your submission.
